A challenge?

I (to my parents disgust, I think), natter to guys on an online dating site. I received a message the other day from this guy who said he’d been to war with men who don’t have my courage and attitude. I felt very flattered and quite self important about that comment. Today he’s sent me this:

“In a couple of weeks…I will be going overseas to work…I will close down my profile on this site before I leave… So here’s some food for thought for you to ponder over for the next year or so. I’m going to set you a challenge.

On the 15th January 2011…I will be climbing K2 again…so get yourself better and get your self fit..and if you strong enough
you can take position two directly behind me… you will be in safe hands.

I’m on Everest in September 2010…but that would be to easy for a girl who drives racing cars…besides only wimps climb Everest.

Before I go I will let you have my email address…so you can let me know if you will be up for it..when everything is done and dusted…and your fully mended..like I know you will be.

I was very impressed with your profile…and believe me, it takes a lot to impress me.”

So…who gets a challenge like that every day? Jeepers, I can’t even walk up a flight of stairs without getting puffed.

Oh and by the way, I never said I drove racing cars, he just saw the pics and assumed 😉

Smallprint: Don’t worry, I am not about to do anything daft. Not this year, anyway!!!

  1. Your current positive mental attitude is much admired and is paying dividends – your Dad and I are extremely proud of the way you are coping with the situation

As said one or two times before “You are a woman – you can do anything” – BUT – maybe you should concentrate on climbing this year’s mountain before making plans for climbing future ones! x 🙂

  2. It would be great to know that the future holds an adventure to the top of the world ( in safe hands). Something to muse on on the grey days.
